CBCA and Woolworths Partner for Children's Book Week 2017

The CBCA is delighted to announce a partnership with Woolworths to celebrate CBCA Children’s Book Week 2017.

CBCA Children’s Book Week is an iconic event in Australian children’s literature and begins immediately after the announcement of the CBCA Book of the Year Awards in August.

This year’s theme Escape to Everywhere will see children, teachers and parents dressing up as their favourite book characters to celebrate stories and the joy of reading. Libraries, schools and communities across the country will showcase Australian literature with creative book displays and engaging activities and events.

Through Woolworths’ extensive network of supermarkets, the CBCA hopes to continue to promote Australian children’s literature and create additional buzz around Children’s Book Week activities.

“We are thrilled to work with Woolworths to bring increased recognition to CBCA Children’s Book Week,” said CBCA Chair, Professor Margot Hillel OAM.

“As part of our partnership we hope to highlight magical children’s stories related to food including an eternal Australian favourite, Mem Fox & Julie Vivas' Possum Magic.”

From mid-August, every Woolworths supermarket in Australia will display the CBCA Children’s Book Week Escape to Everywhere poster.

“We are proud to partner with the CBCA and to help spread the joy of reading with our customers. We know the week puts a further spotlight on great Australian literature and we look forward to showcasing this via our stores during the week,” said Woolworths Marketing Programs Manager, Sarah De La Mare.
