The Curriculum Coorporation has educational activities on two books from the shortlist, Kokoda Track:101 Days by Peter Macinnis and Ned Kelly's Jerilderie Letter by Carole Wilkinson. In the History Strand as well as the Values Strand.

PETA (the Primary English Teacher's Assocation) has produced a 12 page booklet written by Dr Judith Thistleton-Martin that has been sent out to members. It has ideas about the shortlisted nominees and ideas about how to use them (thanks to Barbara Braxton for this information, posted on the oz TL list).
Cat By Mike Dumbleton and Craig Smith is an online text over at the Little Big Book Club website. It has a number of linking activities as well. (Thanks to Deborah Connell for posting this to the oz TL list)

The Qld branch publishes a book, Inside the Shortlist which has all sorts of teaching ideas and activities for each of the books on the 2008 shortlist. Two sample pages can be viewed at the Qld website.

There is a "Beijing Olympic Games & Book Week 2008 rap", hosted by NSW DET's Libraries & Information literacy Unit, using Jackie French's shortlisted title, The Shaggy Gully Times. (Thanks to Ian McLean for posting this)
The NSW Branch of the cbca is joining forces with NSW DET to organise a videoconference: Youth Review the Shortlist: A videoconference for secondary students starting at 10.30 am and going through to 12 noon on Friday August 15 when the winners will be announced.
NSW Schools with videoconference facilities may join in by registering with DET, and non state schools may find details soon on the website of the NSW DART Connections service. (Thanks to Ernie Tucker for letting me know about this).
