Book Week

Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia, celebrating its 64th birthday in 2009. All the previous themes can be found here.

The date for Book Week this year is August 22nd - 28th.

Each year, many schools and public libraries from all over Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians develop activities, offer competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.

Once the 2009 merchandise is available, there will be links on both the National and branch websites to assist you to purchase items to enhance your bookweek experience. These items maybe purchased either online or via post.
